Morocco: here we come!

Our first export to Morocco is a Rescue Cushion purchased by the Protection Civile (Civil Defence) in Casablanca. We also provided technical training in both its operation and servicing, by running a specific course at their own training college, Ecole de la Protection Civile.

Test-to-Destruction

Our Rescue Strops are individually tested and certified to 1050 kg (SWL 150 kg, minimum safety factor of 7x). In a recent random-sample destruction-test, the webbing material finally gave way at 2800 kg - a safety factor of more than 18x.

London Olympics: Water Safety

We are proud to have been chosen to supply the Lifebuoys and Lifebuoy-Housings being installed at the London Olympics' athletes village (we had also hoped to supply this equipment for use at the Olympic swimming pool, but apparently it's not needed!).

More "Bog-Standard" Safety!

An update on the news-item from July 2011: we have delivered another Inflatable Rescue Path / Walkway to the same company, for use at a second site where they are contracted to remove a further substantial area of bog.

Emergency Services Show 2011

This year's show proved a great success, attracting many more attendees, and also highlighting the growing importance of providing customised solutions for specific emergency situations.
Modular products such as our Emergency Shelters and Rescue Paths are ideal for this, and we are currently in detailed discussions for supplying:

  • Emergency Shelters deployed in 5-unit configurations: 1 central unit and 4 satellites forming an X-shape, for use as temporary medical treatment centres
  • Flat-bottomed inflatable Rescue Boats to be used alongside an Emergency Shelter
  • Creating a permanent but flexible evacuation route up to 50 metres long and 4 metres wide, across an area which is flooded at high tide but is mud at low-tide, by using multiple Rescue Path units.

Portable Emergency Lighting

We are pleased to announce that we can now supply a range of portable lighting equipment which is particularly suitable for use in conjunction with our Inflatable Shelters.

The Foxfury Nomad 4000 is a self-contained, high-output, portable unit with a 30-second set-up, making it ideal when lighting is required and power is not available, or when temporary lighting is needed until generators are available. For more information, please see our Inflatable Shelters page.

Command and Control

As another example of how our Inflatable Shelters can be customised for different purposes, we have recently supplied one to a leading European helicopter manufacturer, for use as a field operations Command and Control Unit.

The 6m x 5m shelter is specially fitted with lateral and longitudinal dividers, and an insulation lining to enable use in inclement climates. The package also includes a lighting system and a petrol generator.

Protecting What's Important

Our Inflatable Shelters are already used by the emergency services in several European countries to provide immediate protection of casualties (eg whilst they are cut free from the wreckage of a road accident).

We have now just delivered an Inflatable Shelter to a car valeting company in Scotland, who will use it to protect vehicles during the on-site valeting and repair of luxury cars, whatever the weather. So it's not only for people .... !

New Export Markets

We already supply Rescue Cushions to a number of European and Far Eastern markets. We are now expanding into Canada, and have recently delivered two Rescue Cushions to Lafleur Industries.
August 2011 MOB Rescue Davits

Over the past 12 months, we have supplied 11 dedicated Man-OverBoard Rescue Davits: 4 were retro-fitted to offshore support vessels, and 7 were for a fleet of new-build coastal patrol craft.

Our telescopic SB Rescue Davit can be operated by one man, and may permit a reduction in crewing numbers (subject to regulatory authority approval).

"Bog Standard" Safety (!)

We have recently supplied an Inflatable Rescue Path / Walkway to a customer with an unusual safety challenge. The customer is in Ireland, and is contracted to a major oil company to build a pipeline which requires, amongst other things, that they remove 40 acres of bog! Clearly not a short task, and certainly one which presents a major hazard to the workforce and where in the event of an emergency, time will be critical.

The Inflatable Rescue Path provides a quick and effective method of deploying a rescue platform to reach endangered persons / casualities over hazardous terrain. It is easy to transport, inflates in seconds, and can be extended easily by clipping multiple units together.
