SB Rescue Sling / Davit The SB Rescue Sling is ideal for recovering a casualty from a boat, a steep-sided canal, or a lake, without the rescuer having to enter the water. It can be operated by one person, has an effective reach of up to 4.5 metres (overall length 5 metres) and weighs only 3Kgs.  After use it can be re-armed in less than 30 seconds. The sling is extremely simple for one person to operate, even in severe weather conditions, and has a telescopic handle. No maintenance is required (as there are no moving parts), and the unit requires only a routine inspection. Without the SB Rescue Sling a casualty could be lost due to the freeboard, crew fatigue, lack of crew numbers, or merely through the difficulties always encountered in recovering a dead weight from the water. The unit is a highly effective piece of man overboard rescue equipment and has proved popular on pilot boats, workboats, small passenger craft and rescue vessels.
