This high specification man overboard strop is suitable for use under the most demanding conditions. Manufactured using a 50mm, 1800kg terylene webbing, the strop incorporates the following special features:
- Catchers handle, for pulling survivor inboard
- Thick, padded chest strap using closed cell buoyancy foam
- High visibility orange cover
- Retro reflective tape
- Welded stainless steel D-rings
Each strop is individually tested to a Safe Working Load of 150 kg and is provided with a Test Certificate.
"Sailing Today" included this product in an MOB Group Test (November 2010). ST's technical consultant, Duncan Kent, commented: "Something about this strop says "trust me", which could be that it is made from similar materials to a car's seatbelt or a heavy duty harness. Whether or not I decide to put any other device on board for MOB recovery, I think I would always want one of these trusty strops on board as well - just in case."
